Day : 1 Arrive Delhi
Arrive in Delhi and transfer to your hotel for a stay of two nights. The rest of
the day is at leisure.
Day : 2 In Delhi
Enjoy a combined full day guided
sightseeing tour of Old and New Delhi.
Morning
tour of Old Delhi includes a drive past the Red Fort and a visit to the Jama
Masjid, the largest mosque in Asia and the Raj Ghat, the simple but moving
memorial to Mahatma Gandhi. Afternoon tour of New Delhi includes the Qutab Minar,
the astonishing victory tower built in the early 13th century, a masterpiece of
perfect proportions; the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun and a drive past the
imposing India Gate (War Memorial Arch), the Parliament buildings and the
Rashtrapathi Bhawan (the President's residence).
Day : 3 To Varanasi
Morning fly to Varanasi, better known as Kashi. On arrival, transfer to your
hotel for an overnight stay. Afternoon visit the Buddhist site at Sarnath.
Evening, explore the bustling markets and observe the rituals on the ghats of
the holy river Ganges.
Day : 4 To Khajuraho
Early morning, take a boat ride along the ghats, absorbing the morning rituals
and offerings to the first rays of the rising sun. Later, drive to the airport
for your flight to Khajuraho where you will stay for two nights.
Day : 5 In Khajuraho
Morning explore the Eastern and Western group of Temples, reflecting the exotic
architectural splendour of the Chandela Kings. Afternoon is at leisure to
explore the temple town on your own.
Day : 6 To Agra
Morning drive to the fabled town of Orcha. Visit the palaces & temples.
Continue to Jhansi to board your express train to Agra. On arrival, transfer to
your hotel for a stay of two nights.
Day : 7 In Agra
Following breakfast, visit Itmad-ud-Daulah, the beautiful tomb of Mirza Ghiyath
Beg
built in pure marble and its walls etched with translucent stones. Continue
to the Agra Fort built of red sandstone, a hilltop citadel with fabulous
courtyards, fountains and gates. Later, visit the magnificent Taj Mahal (closed
on Friday), built by Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century as a mausoleum for
his wife Mumtaz Mahal, and now one of the world's most famous landmarks. (B)
Day : 8 To Jaipur
Morning drive to Jaipur en route visiting Akbar's abandoned capital, Fatehpur
Sikri. On arrival in Jaipur, check into your hotel for a stay of two nights. (B)
Day : 9 In Jaipur
Morning, enjoy a brief photo stop at the intriguing red sandstone Hawa Mahal
(Palace of Winds). Continue to visit the ancient capital of the Kachhawaha
Rajputs, Amer. Afternoon tour of the City Palace Museum with its collection of
paintings, carpets, weapons and costumes. Carry on to the Jantar Mantar
Observatory with its 90 ft. sundial and explore the bustling and colourful
markets of the old city.
Day : 10 To Udaipur
Early this morning, you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Udaipur,
the City os Sunrise, where you will stay for two nights. Later visit the City
Palace, stronghold of the Maharanas of Mewar and the Saheliyon ki Badi (Garden
of Maids of honour). Afternoon is at leisure to enjoy the tranquillity and
serenity of the City of Lakes and Sunrise.
Day : 11 In Udaipur
The day is spent enjoying a full-day excursion to the famous marble Jain Temples
at Ranakpur, nestled in the lush green Aravali Hills.
Day : 12 Depart Delhi
Transfer to the airport and fly to Delhi to connect with your international
flight back home.
